My companion is teaching me tagalog. That is about all that has happened this week. Oh also I hit my 9 month mark and my companion made me a lil poster saying happy nine months and it made me convinced that she is the cutest person in the history of the world.

Ummmm lets see. One day we were fasting and it was the one day when literally everyone who we visited had prepared food for us. So we had to tell like 5 different families that we were fasting and every single one was like "oh shoot good thing we didnt prepare a bunch of tacos or anything" or "oh shoot well Ill just leave the cake in the kitchen then" haha we felt so bad.

But I am super happy with Hermana Borja as my companion, it is tough to find investigators right now but we are working really hard together, and are trusting that we will be able to find people as we keep being obedient and working hard. I hope you all have a great week!

Last week at the Temple

With the two elders we share our ward with

woohoooo [3/15/2017 email]

hello hello!

This week waaaaas super good but i cant remember all that happened... Um lets see we had divisions with our hermana leaders (our sister training leaders) and our sector is one of the biggest sectors in the mission right? And theres one place where we always go to that is farther away than the freaking moon and its technically not part of our mission but we have ward members and less actives there so we go and teach there anyways. SOO I thought it would be funny to take my hermana leader on a "scenic tour" to that place, called valle nevado, because they only ever see part of the sector when we have divisions and i dont think they believed us when we said it is freaking gigantic or that our bikes are terrible. And so we went, and i think i almost killed her because we had to go along the border of the sector like the longest route but it was funny and she made it out basically okay. She told me our bikes are terrible hahahaha.

And lets see what else, the other day i ran into a parked bus because i felt bad for a guy who passed us on his bike and crashed, so i was looking behind me and then all of a sudden i looked in front of me and had like two seconds to realize i was going to die before i crashed my front tire and my head into a bus hahaha. It was actually super funny but there was a big ole group of people who saw it so thats awkward.

But anyways, my companion and i are doing super good, she is tiny but likes to work hard so i love being with her! I hope you all have a good week!

This week was the best

ALLLLLRIGHTY folks I would just like to say that yesterday was probably the best day that I have had in my entire mission. Yeah we started off the day doing pendones in the giant park that is in the middle of San Bernardo and we met this one lady who was super cool and interested in what in the world a filipina and a gringa were doing here in chile. And then we had district meeting and our zone leaders were just like, on point with the lesson it was SO GOOD. And then after lunch we went to try to find an investigator that had listened to the missionaries a lot before but we had just seen his name in our records, and we were able to find him and his family and get to know them all and have a lesson with him and he is super awesome. And then we had a lesson with an investigator who I found with Hermana Castro and we invited her to pray and if she received an answer that what we were teaching was true, we invited her to be baptised and she accepted. And then we have been having to haul our bikes up like 5 flights of stairs lately to cross the train tracks because they closed our usual route but turns out that this day they turned on the elevator! That in and of itself is a miracle because my little compy has back issues and i was afraid that she was going to snap in half every night trying to lift up her bike. BUT ANYWAYS that was my day in a nutshell yesterday, literally one of the best i have had, it was great from start to finish. Ah man, I just love being with Hermana Borja.

Also there was a scripture that I read this week that really stuck out to me, its in Mosiah 2: 20-21, it says:
"I say unto you, my brethren, that if you should render all the thanks and praise which your whole soul has power to possess, to that God who has created you, and has kept and preserved you, and has caused that ye should rejoice, and has granted that ye should live in peace one with another -
I say unto you that if ye should serve him who has created you from the beginning, and is preserving you from day to day, by lending you breath, that ye may live and move and do according to your own will, and even supporting you from one moment to another - I say, if ye should serve him with all your whole souls yet ye would be unprofitable servants."
And for a while I was reading that last part, about the "unprofitable servants". I didn't really understand that, because I was thinking, if we give everything to the Lord, we will still be unprofitable? And what I came to understand that really, God and Christ gave us everything, literally everything and in comparison to the Atonement, our sacrifices aren't anything. But we do owe it to them to still give them everything that we have, to keep trying to keep serving them even if it seems like we aren't enough or there are others who are better. Because even though we will always be in debt, Christ accepts the small sacrifices that we offer, that for us may seem huge. He asks that we give part, because He gave and continues to give us all.

BUT ANYWAYS, that is about all I've got for you guys this week, I hope that everyone is doing just fabulously, and that you all have a lovely week!

Sleepless in Santiago

Hello hello family and friends!

SO this week we had CAMBIOS!! But okay, first off we started the week off by having a day where we do divisions with the missionaries from the CCM for like 3 hours. This was the second time I've done it, the other time was when I was in Departamental. So we went to the estaca and picked up our new little companions and then took them back to our sector, mine was a cute little Colombian who laughed at everything and was super excited to be there and was just super happy and I felt like we were basically the same person. And it kind of stunk at first because we were contacting doors for the first hour and nobody wanted to listen to us and I was like shoot I need somebody to receive us so that this little missionary can see that the missionary life is pretty cool and not everybody hates us. Then we met a lady who was painting her door and we started to talk with her and turns out she had talked with missionaries before and she invited us in her house and called her two daughters and they were so cool and my comp was able to give them a Book of Mormon and it was one of the coolest contacts that I have had in a while, and afterwards she was all excited and went back to the CCM super happy.

And then, two days before cambios, we had six hermanas in the house because Hermana Silva and Hermana Yufra were finishing up their mission so when they left their companions would have to stay together. So they came to our house and the night before they were going to leave they did all of their suitcases and packed everything up but also left our house a freaking disaster with all of the stuff that they were leaving behind. Hermana Silva left at 3 in the morning, and Hermana Yufra at 6:30 in the morning so none of us slept at all because we were helping them get things together. And then the next night, we had to get ready because we were going to have cambios in the morning so we had to move things and clean things and whatnot and none of us slept then either hahahah.

And now I am companions with Hermana Borja, from the filipines and Hermana Castro is with Hermana de Carvalho, from Brasil.

So thats that. Its sad because Despain isn't living in the house now but its cool because Hermana Castro is still here. But that was this week, full of lots of changes and new things. I hope you all have a lovely week!
