We are basically the Power Puff Girls

Hello hello family and friends!

So this week has been interesting, I have been getting accustomed to working in a trio and to my new calling. This last Saturday we had a service project as a zone where we went to an old person retirement home or something that is in my past sector, Quimey, and we cleaned up like weeds and threw away a bunch of trash that they had collected up there, like wheelchairs and whatnot. So thats why theres a pic of us standing in a big ole trash can. Dump thing? Ima go with trash can.

Also what else has happened, hmmm today for pday we went to a house where the hermanas were fighting and helped them have conflict resolution for three hours. And we were able to resolve it! Woohoo! At least we think we resolved it but we will see.

But that is about it because honestly it has been a lot of meetings and stuff, and trying to find people to teach. BUT I am doing super good, and I hope that everyone else is as well! Have a lovely week!

Goodbye Quimey, Hello San Beka

Hello hello!

So yesterday we had cambios, and now I am in San Bernardo ward in a trio! [The three of them are now the sister training leaders for their sector.] My companions are Hermanas Johnston and De Carvalho, from Philadelphia and Brasil. Its super weird this change because now I don't have a bike and the sector is TINY, whereas in Quimey it was gigantic. But its good, its always weird getting used to new comps and areas.

But yeah so this week was full of us saying goodbye to people which is literally the worst, especially saying goodbye to Benjamin and Jocelyn. But the good thing is he is going to baptized in a few weeks so I will be able to return and attend the baptism.

So not too much has happened other than that, yesterday we taught a few Haitianos with the Elder from the marriage couple of missionaries who speaks a bit of french and it was the weirdest mixture of languages, spanish, english and french. But it was actually super cool because they were able to understand the priesthood and everything.

But anyways, I will let you all know next week how it goes teaching in a trio! "I testify that the words of my... my two companions are true." haha.

Okay have a lovely week!

Satan thought he could win [5/17/2017 email]

Screenshot from our Skype call with Aleigha on Mothers Day, 5/14/2017
Hello hello!!

So first off, HAPPY LATE MOTHERS DAY!! Talking with the fam was fun. And weird. But mostly fun. Mmmm this week we had a family home evening with Benjamin and Jocelyn who are doing super good, and Hermana Jocelyn did the lesson and talked about how we are literal children of God and sometimes the world makes us forget that like how she forgot that for a long time but in the end it was super good and we could feel the spirit so strong. It is super cool to see how they both are progressing so well.

Also today, we had to get up at 5:00 so that we could make it to the 9 o'clock session at the temple and we first off were supposed to meet the elders at a certain bus stop and when we got there the elders weren't there so we just decided to get on the bus. Then we met up with other elders at the train station but turns out the train wasn't working at that time in that station so then we had to run to the other train station but turns out we didn't have the special train pass thing that we needed because we thought that the one main card would work for it but nope. So then we had to take the bus and then take a metro and then another metro and in Chile in the morning the metro is so crammed full of people that you don't need to hold onto the hand rail because the people are packed in so tightly that it is impossible to fall. And then we literally ran like 7 blocks from the metro station to the temple and got there 4 minutes too late. So we had to wait for the next session BUT we got to do initiatory so that was cool. So the lesson is, when Satan thinks he's got you and he's foiled your plans, just go and do initiatory in the temple and you'll learn new things and get the upper hand on him.

Also here are some pictures from when we were in the house of an investigator the other day, her niece was putting the blanket all over me because she thought I was cold and wanted to help. Anyways, I hope you all have just a lovely week!

Another week in Chile [5/10/2017 email]

You know, sometimes the people in the street just randomly yell "HELLO HELLO" at the missionaries. And that is true for almost all of us. Like, it doesn't matter if they're full latinos or actual gringos, people just see the name badge and want to yell at you in english. Fun fact for you all.

Also hmm lets see. This week has been good, just, you know, working as usual. Benjamin and Jocelyn are doing super good, and they always tell us about the little miracles that have been happening in their lives that have started ever since we found them that day. They say that they have started to receive so many little blessings that they never received when they were far from the church, like when they had separated themselves from the church. So that was super cool to hear, you can tell that they really are happy to be turning back to God. So naturally we are super happy for them. They are really a testimony to me that the timing of God is definitely not our timing. I know that for a long time, Hermana Borja and I were fasting and praying and contacting literally everyone that we met because we were trying to find people to teach, people who needed this message that we have. And it felt like a long time that we were struggling with that, and then one day we found Benjamin and Jocelyn by miracle (it felt more like an accident) and they were just one of the answers to our prayers that we've gotten because there are more that have happened. So don't worry because God always listens and always answers, we just are sometimes impatient. Or we don't recognize the answers.

But that is it, I hope you all have a lovely week!

Today we climbed a mountain [5/3/2017 email]

Hello hello!

So today, Hermana Borja and I climbed a mountain. And that is the most exciting thing that we have done this week. Other than having new bikes. And having ínterviews with President. And telling him that we don't want changes but him basically telling us that we are going to have changes. SOOO BUMMER. But climbing up a mountain was fun, especially since the mountains here look like they were plucked out of Arizona and put into Chile.

Umm also we had a family home evening with a less active family that we found, and a member family accompanied us and it was super cool because this family doesn't remember too much about the gospel so we taught the Restoration and talked about Joseph Smith and the spirit was so strong.

But we are doing super good, there were a few other little temblors, but nothing to worry about. Okay I hope you all have a great week!
